In collaboration with Netafim, a global leader in drip irrigation systems and water technologies, Ocean Strategy's dedicated independent consultants played a pivotal role in a project that exemplifies the ethos of effective investment and project management.

Progress Since 2018:

Back in 2018, our team crafted an Information Memorandum, laying the groundwork for a transformative project. Through meticulous research, we synthesized insights from diverse sources, including international governmental organizations, Rwandan Government reports, research papers, financial projections, and stakeholder meetings. This mosaic of knowledge formed the bedrock of a comprehensive project proposal that resonated with our strategic expertise.

Fast forward to today, the Gabiro Agribusiness Hub, situated in Nyagatare and Gatsibo districts in Rwanda's Eastern Province, stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and effective project management. This ambitious endeavour, initiated through a partnership between the Government of Rwanda and Netafim, seeks to not only enhance food security but also address trade imbalances through sustainable agribusiness practices.

Achievements in Agribusiness Transformation:

The Gabiro Agribusiness Hub has made significant strides since its inception. Recent developments, as reported by The New Times, reveal that eleven investors are poised to commence commercial farming on 4,000 hectares within the hub, marking a crucial step towards boosting exports and reducing import dependency. These investors, carefully selected from a competitive pool, will leverage the advanced agricultural ecosystem facilitated by the project.

A hallmark achievement of the Gabiro Agribusiness Hub lies in its innovative drip irrigation system, a technology capable of saving up to 80% of water while optimizing nutrient delivery to crops. This modern water infrastructure, coupled with high-value agro-processing operations, showcases the project's commitment to efficiency and sustainability.
